MATERIALS & TOOLS YOU WILL NEED:
- Acrylic or other yarn approx. 250gr – 300gr in grey, baby pink and white colours DK, Double Knitting in UK, Light Worsted in the USA, 8ply in Australia.
- Crochet hook sizes H 5 mm and J 6 mm.
- 3 pearl beads (optional).
- Yarn needle to weave in ends.
ABBREVIATIONS:
- CH – chain, CH SP – chain space
- SC – single crochet (double crochet for UK/Australia)
- DC – double crochet (treble crochet for UK/Australia)
- TR – triple (treble) crochet (double treble crochet for UK/Australia)
- SS – slip stitch
- ST – stitch
BLANKET PATTERN
Use grey yarn, crochet hook size J 6mm. CH5, join with SS to first CH to form a ring.
ROUND 1: CH3 (counts as a double in this and all following rounds), 2DC in ring, (CH3, 3DC in ring ), repeat 3 times, CH3, join with SS in 3rd CH of beg CH3.
ROUND 2: slip stitch in next 2 DC ST and in first space, CH3, in same SP work (2DC, CH3, 3DC): corner made, CH1,* skip next 3 DC, in next CH3 SP work (3DC, CH3, 3DC): corner made, CH1, repeat from *twice more, skip next 3 DC, join in top CH of CH3.
ROUND 3: slip stitch in next 2 DC ST and in CH3 corner space, CH3 in same space, work (2DC, CH3, 3DC): corner made, CH1,* 3DC in next space, CH1, in next CH3 corner SP work (3DC, CH3, 3DC): corner made, CH1, repeat from * twice more, join in top CH of CH3.
ROUND 4: slip stitch in next 2 DC ST and in corner space, CH3, in same space work (2DC, CH3, 3DC): corner made, CH1, * (3DC into next space), CH1, repeat twice, (3DC, CH3, 3DC) in next CH3 space: corner made, CH1, repeat from* twice more, (3DC in next space), CH1, repeat twice, join with SS in top CH of CH3.
Make more 14 rounds until blanket is 18 rounds all together. Each successive round will have one additional 3DC group between corners.
BORDER:
ROUND 19: change colour to baby pink, CH3, DC in next 2 ST, 7DC in CH3 corner space, DC in every ST and CH1 space to next corner then again 7DC in CH3 corner space, repeat around the blanket, join with SS in first CH3.
ROUND 20: CH3, DC in next 5 ST, 5DC in next ST on the corner (in 4th ST of 7DC group of round 19), DC in every ST to next corner, then again 5DC on the corner, repeat around the blanket, join with SS in first CH3.
ROUND 21: change colour to white, CH3, DC in next 7 ST, 5DC in next ST on the corner (in 3rd St of 5DC group of round 20), DC in every ST to next corner, then again 5DC on the corner, repeat around the blanket, join with SS in first CH3.
ROUND 22: CH1, skip 2 ST, 6DC in next ST, skip 2 ST, SC in next ST, skip 3 ST, 9DC in next ST on the corner, skip 3 ST, SC in next ST, * skip 2 ST, 6DC in next ST, skip 2 ST, SC in next ST, repeat to the next corner, then again make the corner, skip 3 ST, 9DC in next ST on the corner, skip 3 ST. Repeat around the blanket. Fasten off, weave in ends.
FLOWER PATTERN:
Worked in rounds without turning, use crochet hook J 6mm. CH 4, SS in first CH to join and form a ring.
ROUND 1: CH3, 3 TR crochet in ring, CH2, SC in ring, CH2, 3 TR crochet in ring, CH2, SC to ring, 2 petals made, make 3 petals more.
ROUND 2: CH1, now work behind petals, SC in back loop in 2nd TR crochet of first petal, CH3, SC in back loop in 2nd TR crochet of second petal, repeat around on all petals, join with SS to SC in first petal.
ROUND 3: SC in CH3 space, CH2, 5 TR crochet in same CH3 space, CH2, SC in same CH3 space, one petal made, SC in next CH3 space, make more 4 petals, at the end of 5th petal after SC join with SS in first SC in first petal.
Fasten off and weave in ends. Make 3 flowers. Sew one flower to blanket corner, pearl bead sew to centre of a flower.
HAT AND CARDIGAN PATTERN
HAT PATTERN
Use grey yarn and crochet hook H 5mm for hat size 0 – 3 months. CH 3, join with SS in first CH to form a ring.
ROUND 1: CH3 (counts as first DC throughout), DC 11 in the ring, SS in top of beginning CH3.
ROUND 2: CH3, DC in same ST, 2DC in each ST around, SS in top of CH3.
ROUND 3: CH3, DC in same ST, DC in next ST, * 2DC in next ST, DC in next ST, repeat from * to end of the round, SS in top of CH3.
ROUND 4: CH3, DC in next ST, 2DC in next ST, * DC in next 2 ST, 2DC in next ST, repeat from * to end of the round, SS in top of CH3.
ROUND 5: CH3, DC in same ST, * DC to next 3 ST, 2DC in next ST, repeat from * to end of the round, SS in top of CH3.
ROUND 6 – 11: CH3, DC in next ST and in each ST around, join with SS.
For ROUNDS 8 – 9 change yarn to baby pink colour and for ROUNDS 10 – 11 change yarn to white colour.

CARDIGAN PATTERN
Use crochet hook size H 5mm, grey yarn. Starting with neckline CH 47. Always count CH2 or CH3 at the beginning of the row as a ST.
ROW 1: 2DC in 3th CH from hook, *DC in next 3 CH, 2DC in next CH, repeat from * to end of the row.

ROW 20: white colour, CH1, SC in same ST, now work SC across the side of a sweater towards neckline, 3SC on the corner, SC across all ST of neckline, 3SC on the corner, now working SC across another side towards bottom of cardigan .
ROW 21: turn, now work SS across Row 20 IN FRONT LOOPS ONLY, work towards neckline corner, SC in 1st ST of a corner, CH 50 for tie, SS to 2nd CH from hook and to all CH back to corner, SS in same 1ST ST of corner, (repeat tie on another corner), SS across neckline, then after corner towards bottom of cardigan, fasten off.
SLEEVES.
ROUND 1: Attach yarn at underarm CH1 SP, CH2 (count as a ST), make DC in horizontal middle DC ST from previous round, DC in next 23 ST, DC in horizontal middle DC ST from previous round, join with SS in CH2. (26 ST).
ROUND 2: CH2, turn, DC in all ST of the round, join with SS. ROUND 3 – 13: repeat Round 2.
ROUND 14: white yarn, CH1, turn, SC in same ST, SC in all ST of the round, join with SS.
ROUND 15: turn, work SS across Round 14 IN FRONT LOOPS ONLY, join, fasten off. Make another sleeve the same. Sew one flower and pearl bead to cardigan.
