My obsession with yarn crafts began early, due to my grandmother, a wonderfully gifted crocheter who often sent me home with the most cozy knitted afghans. She taught me the fundamentals of crochet when I was only nine years old. And, while I didn’t quite get the hang of it at the time, those early teachings ignited a creative spark that never went away.
Later, as an adult, I re-learned crochet through a few library books and a lot of trial and error. I have been hooked ever since! I’m now working on becoming a certified crochet instructor.
I can’t get enough of either craft! My workplace is overrun with yarn (please provide organizing advice), and my four children have more homemade sweaters than they can handle.
I developed Shoutmecraft because I wanted to create a crochet resource that was simple for beginners to understand. To make learning crochet less frustrating, I attempt to use high-quality photographs and well-organized tutorials. My goal is to offer new crocheters the confidence to create amazing items and experience the pure delight of making something with their own two hands.
And that’s only the beginning! I’m very pleased to keep expanding this enthusiastic fiber arts community and bringing more individuals to the beauty of crafting.
