This is one of my favorites projects! I love the shape, design and the size of this bag! Is cool and fun to make! The bag is Perfect to be used as Market bag, Tote, purse etc.
CROCHET MEASUREMENTS
Size:
Width: 11 in (28 cm)
Height (measured from the side without handle): 10 in (25 cm) Handle: 15.5 in (39 cm)
MATERIALS
Crochet hook: 5 mm (US H-8), 6 mm (US J-10)
USED Yarn:
Name: Silke Estate (DK weight) Colour: 250 (brown), 14 (beige)
Quantity: 250 (brown): 7 balls each 50g. (1.76 Oz) with the length of 127mt (139yds), 14 (beige): 3 balls each 50g. (1.76 Oz) with the length of 127mt
Additionally you will need
- 2 opening O-rings for purse with inner diameter 2,5cm (0,98”)
- • Magnetic closure
* You can use the yarn of other producers with the same characteristics.
** YOU SHOULD CROCHET 3 STRANDS OF YARN TOGETHER!!!!
GUAGE:
15 stitches and 16 rows = 4 inches (10cm) in single crochet
STITCH CLOSSARY AND SYMBOLS
1. Chain

The Back Loop Single Crochet is a variation on the traditional Single Crochet stitch. The main difference is that instead of inserting your hook underneath the
entire stitch, the hook enters the center of the stitch, and exits underneath the back loop. This creates a nice ridged texture on the fabric with relatively little effort.
4. Crossed Single crochet (in UK crossed double crochet)
When you are making crossed single crochet you should skip the first stitch, make single crochet into the next one and after make single crochet into the first stitch.
- Single crochet – sc
- Back loop single crochet – blsc
- Chain – ch
- Crossed single crochet – csc
- Repeat – rep
- Slip Stitch – sl st
MIDDLE PART OF THE BAG
First side:
BROWN COLOUR HOOK 6 MM
Row 1: make chain of 37 stitches, starting from the second stitch make 36 sc, turn
Row 2: 1ch to start the row, 1sc, make csc till the last stitch, 1sc, turn
Row 3: 1ch to start the row, all sc, turnRepeat rows 2-3 19 more times!!!
BROWN COLOUR HOOK 5 MM
Row 42: 1ch to start the row, 36 sc, turn
Repeat row 42 3 more times.
Second side:
BROWN COLOUR HOOK 6 MM
Row 1: Start to make the other side of the bag. Starting crocheting from the wrong side make 36 sc into the bottom row (row 1 of the first side)
Row 2: 1ch to start the row, 1sc, make csc till the last stitch, 1sc, turn
Row 3: 1ch to start the row, all sc, turn
Repeat rows 2-3 19 more times!!!
BROWN COLOUR HOOK 5 MM
Row 42: 1ch to start the row, 36 sc, turn
Repeat row 42 3 more times.
SIDE PARTS OF THE BAG
First side:
BROWN COLOUR HOOK 5 MM
Row 1 (starting from the right side): attach brown colour, 1ch to start the row, 35 sc, turn
LIGHT BEIGE COLOUR HOOK 5 MM
Row 2: attach light beige colour, 1ch to start the row, 34 sc, turn
Row 3: 1ch to start the row, 35 blsc, turn
Repeat rows 2-3 5 more times.
Make second, third and the fourth sides by the same way as the first side was done!!!
HANDLE:
BROWN COLOUR HOOK 5 MM
Row 1: make chain of 56 stitches, starting from the second stitch make 55 sc, turn
Row 2: 1ch to start the row, 55sc, turn
Repeat row 2 5 more times.
Join both sides of the handle by sl st.
BAG ASSAMBLING
JOIN ALL THE SIDES OF THE BAG BY SL ST
SHAPE THE BAG AS SHOWN ON THE PHOTO BELOW AND ATTACH THE HANDLE
Attach magnetic closure
(Closer cover) -2 pcs CROCHET HOOK 6 MM
Row 1: Make chain of 5 stitches.
Row 2: Starting from the second chain stitch crochet by single crochet the next Row. Totally 4 stitches
Row 3-5: 1ch, 4sc
Make the second one by the same way
