Sweatshirt Base
Round 1: Ch (72, 76, 80, 84). Sl st into your first
st to form a ring. Ch 2 (counts as hdc), turn and
hdc in each ch around. Make sure not to twist
your chain as you work. When you reach your
first stitch, sl st into it to close the round. (72, 76,
80, 84)
Round 2: Ch 3 (counts as hdc + 1 ch), hdc in the
SAME st, hdc in the next (17, 18, 19, 20) st.
*[hdc, ch 1, hdc] in the next st, hdc in the next
(17, 18, 19, 20) st. Repeat from * around twice
more until you reach your first st. Do not sl st into
your first st! Instead, continue directly to the next
round. (76, 80, 84, 88)
Round 3: Into the next ch-1 space from hook,
make: [hdc, ch 1, hdc]. *Hdc in the next (18, 19,
20, 21) st, [hdc, ch 1, hdc] in the next st. Repeat
from * twice more until you reach your first st. Do
not sl st into your first st. (80, 84, 88, 92)
Round 4: Into the next ch-1 space from hook,
make: [hdc, ch 1, hdc]. *Hdc in the next (19, 20, 21,
22) st, [hdc, ch 1, hdc] in the next st. Repeat from *
twice more until you reach your first st. Do not sl st
into your first st. (84, 88, 92, 96)
Rounds 5-27: continue to repeat round 4, adding
one st to the hdc portion each time you go.
Continue to repeat until you have a total of (176,
180, 184, 188) st.
**now you will make the arm holes. Still attached to
the sweatshirt base, count 42 st away from your
most recent stitch. Sl st into this st to leave a hole
that is 42 st around. F/o, weave in ends. Now, sl st
into the st that is (46, 48, 50, 52) st away from
where you connected the arm hole. It does not
matter which side this is! Again, now that you’ve sl
st into this stitch, count 42 st away (in the same
direction) and sl st to leave a hole that is 42 st
around. You can begin the next round directly from
this point, without fastening off.
Sweatshirt Border
Round 1: Sl st into the foundation ch of your first
round of the sweatshirt base. Sc in each st around.
(72, 76, 80, 84)
Round 2: *Sc in the next (16, 17, 18, 19) st, sc-dec.
Repeat from * around. (68, 72, 76, 80)
Round 3: *Sc in the next (15, 16, 17, 18) st, sc-dec.
Repeat from * around. (64, 68, 72, 76)
Round 4: *Sc in the next (14, 15, 16, 17) st, sc-dec.
Repeat from * around. (60, 64, 68, 72)

Sweatshirt Middle
**Take the white yarn and tie it around the black yarn you are working with currently. Carry this white yarn underneath the rest of your stitches to create the white dotted effect.
Round 1: Facing the middle of the sweatshirt base, Hdc in each st around, making one hdc in the place where you connected the arm holes. When you reach your first st, sl st to close the round. (92, 96, 100, 104)
Round 2: Ch 2 (counts as hdc), hdc in each st around, ending with a sl st into your first st to close the round. (92, 96, 100, 104)
Rounds 3-12: repeat round 2. For a longer sweatshirt, continue to repeat round 2 until youve reached your desired length. F/o and weave in ends.
Sleeve (make 2)
**Sl st anywhere on the arm hole and ch 2 to count as your first hdc of the round. Take the white yarn and tie it around the black yarn you are working with currently. Carry this white yarn underneath the rest of your stitches to create the white dotted effect.
Round 1: Hdc in each st around. Sl st into your first st to form a ring. (42)
Round 2: Ch 2 (counts as hdc), hdc in next 18 st, hdc-dec. Hdc in next 19 st, hdc-dec. (40)
**For size L:
Rounds 3-28: Ch 2 (counts as hdc), hdc in each st around. sl st into your first st to close the round. F/o and weave in ends. (40)

Hood
Round 1: With black yarn, ch 3 (counts as hdc +
ch), hdc 11 times into your 3rd ch. Sl st into your
first hdc to close the round. (12)
Round 2: Ch 2 (counts as hdc), hdc-inc in each

Round 3: Ch 2 (counts as hdc), *hdc in next st,
hdc-inc in next st. Repeat from * around. (36)

Round 5: Ch 2 (counts as hdc), *hdc in next 3 st,

Rounds 10-20: repeat round 9.
Round 21: Ch 2 (counts as hdc), turn so you are
facing the edges of all your previous rounds. Hdc
around the entire rectangular/circular shape until
you reach the first stitch of round 20 (the other side
of the straight line). Since you are working into the
edges of rounds, the stitch count may not be exact
but you should have around 108 st.
Round 22: Ch 2 (counts as hdc), turn, hdc in each
st around. (108)
Rounds 23-(30, 32, 34, 36): repeat round 22.
F/o and leave a very long tail for sewing.
Line up the corners of the hood so that they
touch at the front of the hoodie (on the last round
of the sweatshirt border)
Using your tapestry needle, sew the around the
edge of the hood and attach it to the last round
of the sweatshirt border. Work all around until
you reach the other corner of the hood. Weave
in all ends when finished.



**optional: make a chain of 450 and weave this through the edge of the hood to make a drawstring!
