Sew the last round of these Top Front extensions to the last round of the Top Back, starting from the corners and working inward, until you have no more st remaining. You should now have two large sleeve holes, and a neck hole.

Sleeves (make 2)

  • Round 1: Sl st anywhere on the sleeve hole and make a hdc. Hdc around the entire sleeve hole until you arrive back at your first st. NOTE: since you are working into the edges of rounds, do your best to estimate where the st should go. You should end with (42, 50, 60) st depending on what height shirt you are making.
  • Round 2: **Hdc in the next (19, 8, 8) st, then make a hdc-dec. Repeat from ** around, stopping when you arrive back at your first hdc-st. (40, 45,54)

    • Round 3: Hdc in each st around (40)

  • For 6’2″ and up:
    • Round 3: **Hdc in the next 4 st, then make a hdcdec. Repeat from ** around, stopping when you arrive back at your first hdc-st. (45)
  • For 5’8″ and below:
    • Round 4: Hdc in each st around (40)
  • For 5’9″ to 6’1″:
    • Round 4: Hdc in each st around (40)
  • For 6’2″ and up:
    • Round 4: **Hdc in the next 7 st, then make a hdcdec. Repeat from ** around, stopping when you arrive back at your first hdc-st. (40)
  • Round 5: Hdc in each st around. (40)
  • Rounds 6-15: Repeat round 5. (40)
  • Note: if you want shorter/longer sleeves, you can add or remove repetitions of round 5 to achieve your desired length.
  • Round 16: Switch to your 3.25mm hook without fastening off. hdc-inc in each st around. (80)
  • F/o and weave in ends. Repeat this process on the other sleeve hole to complete both sleeves.

Neck Border

With your 3.25mm hook, sl st anywhere on the neckline of your top. Ch 1 (does not count as st), hdc twice in each st around.

NOTE: when working into the edges of rounds, try
to place 2 st for every edge you work into. You should end with about (80, 90, 92, 90, 96, 100) although stitch count is not as important at this step. When you arrive back at your original st, sl st into it to close the round and f/o, weave in ends.

Distressed Bottom Edge (optional)

The top has a distressed border at the bottom – this is created by cutting through the middle of Round 1 of the top base, leaving it frayed / distressed. You can choose to create this look or leave your top as-is!
