To croch t this fox toy you need:
- DK (3 or light) weight yarn of orange, black and white colours (100g – 260m / 3,53Oz – 274 yds)
- 2 ply (0 or lace) weight yarn of beige colour (100g – 660m / 3,53Oz – 720 yds)
- 2.5 mm crochet hook 1 mm crochet hook
- 6 mm safety eyes
- Black yarn for embroidering nose Fiberfill for stuffing
- Sewing needle and scissors
- Stitch marker (to mark the first stitch on the round)
- The height of finished toy is about 14 cm. Size might vary if you use a different weight yarn or hook size.
Abbreviations:
- st = stitch
- sc = single crochet ch = chain
- inc = increase (2 single crochets in one stitch) dec = invisible decrease (2 stitches together working in front loops only)
- sl = slip stitch
- (..) = repeat between () number of times indicated
- [..] = total number of stitches in the round or row Crochet in continuous rounds. Do not join, slip stitch or turn unless otherwise stated in the pattern

Changing the yarn colour:
While doing a single crochet:
Start the single crochet stitch as normal (yarn over and pull through), leaving two loops on your hook. Wrap the new colour yarn around the hook and pull the new colour through the two loops on your hook, completing the single crochet stitch and colour change. Continue as normal in the new colour. Please refer to pictures below.
If you need to start a round with new colour, do these steps on the last stitch of previous round.

Head:
Work in rounds. Use white yarn and 2.5 mm crochet hook.

Ears (make2):
Outer part.
Work in rounds. Use orange yarn and 2.5mm crochet hook.

Inner part.
Work in rows. Use beige yarn and 1 mm crochet hook.

Fasten off and leave long thread for sewing.
Assemble ears:
- Make the outer part flat and close the bottom by sewing. Leave the remaining thread.
- Place inner part in the middle of the outer part and sew around

Assemble the head:
- Attach the snout between the eyes. Top of the snout should be on round 12. Stuff snout before closing up.
- Insert the head into head cover. Ensure that 4 rounds remain uncovered above the eyes and that the gap between the eyes and head cover are equal on both sides of the face.
- Sew the head cover around using back loops.
- Position snout cover on the snout and above. It should cover all the way up to the head cover. Use a stitch marker to pin the end to make attaching easier. Sew around.
- Attaching ears:Use a stitch marker to mark the middle of the head on round 9. Ears should be spaced 5 stitches apart at the top of the head.
- Place ears on the side of the head cover. Begin by attaching inner ear to round 9 and sew ear diagonally out to round 12.
- Embroider nose on the seam where snout cover starts. Use black yarn.
- Embroider fur details on the snout cover using beige yarn.

Fur:
Work in rows. Use white yarn and 2.5mm crochet hook.

- Start in second chain from the hook: sc 2, ch 1 and turn [2]
- sc 2, ch 3 and turn [5]
- Start in second chain from the hook working on the wrong side of chain: sc 2 in chain stitches, sc 2, ch 1 and turn [4]
- sc 3, ch 3 and turn [6]
- Start in second chain from the hook working on the wrong side of chain: sc 2 in chain stitches, sc 3, ch 1 and turn [5]
- sc 4, ch 3 and turn [7]
- Start in second chain from the hook working on the wrong side of chain: sc 2 in chain stitches, sc 4, ch 1 and turn [6]
- sc 3, ch 2 and turn [5]
- Start in second chain from the hook working on the wrong side of chain: sc 2 in chain stitches, sc 2, ch 1 and turn [4]
- sc 2, ch 1 and turn [2] 12. sc 2 [2]
Fasten off and leave long thread for sewing.

Hind legs (make 2):
Work in rounds. Use black yarn and 2.5 mm crochet hook.
- 1 – sc 5 in magic ring [5]
- 2 – (inc) repeat 5 times [10] 3 – 8. sc 10 [10]
Change to orange.
- 9 – (sc 1, change to black, sc 1, change to orange) repeat 5 times [10]
- 10 – Continue in orange: sc 10 [10]
- 11 – sc 8, dec [9] 12 – 13. sc 9 [9]
- 14 – sc 7, dec [8] 15 – 16. sc 8 [8]
Fasten off and stuff the legs firmly. Close them by sewing and leave long thread for attaching.
Front legs (make 2):
Crochet same as hind legs, but instead of stuffing firmly, stuff only half of the legs.

Tail:
Work in rounds. Use white yarn and 2.5 mm crochet hook.

- 7 – (sc 5, inc) repeat 2 times, sc 6 [20] Change to orange.
- 8 – (sc 1, change to white, sc 1, change to orange) repeat 10 times [20]
- 9 – Continue in orange: sc 20 [20]
- 10 – 14. sc 20
- 15 – (sc 3, dec) repeat 4 times [16]

Fasten off and leave long thread for sewing.
Assemble the toy:
- Attach body to the centre bottom of the head.
- Position hind legs on sides of round 7 of the body
- Position front legs one round away from the neck seam on the sides of the body.
- Attach the fur on the neck seam.
- Attach the tail to the back of the body, in the middle between rounds 6 and 7.
