Simple to knit, Knitting Pattern Pullover Sweater Jumper has a relaxed, oversized fit and a loose turtneck collar. works fast with simple shaping and stitching. Uses 10.0mm 24″ circular needles, weight 6 yarn and 12.0mm needles (alternatively substitute to get gauge).

Needles:

Gauge :

  • 4” x 4” = 7 S x 10 R stockinette stitch

  • k = knit
  • p = purl
  • k2tog = knit two stitches together

Notes

The front, back, and sleeves are knitted flat and then stitched together. The neck is knitted in the round. Sizes are shown on pattern as S (M, L).

If needed, blocking your finished garment may help smooth imperfections, loosen stitches + obtain final measurements.

FRONT

with 10.0 mm needles, cast on 52 (56, 60)

Rows 1 – 3: [k1, p1] (rib stitch) change to 12.0 mm needles

Rows 4 – 46 (52, 58): starting with a purl row, work in stockinette stitch Row 47 (53, 59): knit 22 (24, 26), cast off 8 stitches, knit to the end

Row 48 (54, 60): purl 22 (24, 26)

turn your work, leaving other 22 (24, 26) stitches on needle; you will come back to these later

Row 49 (55, 61): k2tog, knit 20 (22, 24)

Row 50 (56, 62): purl 21 (23, 25) turn

SLEEVES

Rows 1 – 16: starting with a knit row, work in stockinette stitch Row 17: (decrease stitches) k2tog, k30, k2tog (32 stitches) Rows 18 – 32: starting with a purl row, work in stockinette stitch Row 33: (decrease stitches) k2tog, k28, k2tog (30 stitches)

Note: Row numbers will now change according to size. Due to the drop shoulder design, size small works up the longest, medium is shorter, and large is the shortest.

Rows 34 – 42 (40, 38): starting with a purl row, work in stockinette stitch change to 10.0 mm needles

Row 43 (41, 39): (decrease stitches) [k2tog] 14 times, k2 (16 stitches)

Rows 44 (42, 40) – 46 (44, 42): [k1, p1] (rib stitch) cast off (using a stretchy bind-off method)

NECK

Place front and back of sweater together with right sides facing up. Using a darning needle, long piece of yarn, and the mattress stitch technique, stitch shoulder seams together.

Starting at the shoulder seam on the right facing you, pick up an even number of stitches (insert needle in stitch, wrap yarn around and pull through) along the neckline using 10.0 mm 24” circular needles. Approximately 48 – 54 stitches.

[k1, p1] (rib stitch) in the round.

Rounds 1 – 10: [k1, p1] (rib stitch) cast off

FINISH

Continuing with right sides facing up, line sleeves up with stitched up shoulder seams and stitch together using the mattress stitch technique.

Finish by stitching together the sleeve seams and side seams using the mattress stitch technique. Weave in ends.
