Crochet Shoulder Bag Free Pattern

Crochet Shoulder BagFor the grocery store, farmer’s market, or even beach – these cotton mesh bags are incredibly useful, expandable, and durable. Plus they take up virtually no space when empty.

AND they’re super easy to crochet.

3 skeins DROPS PARIS (No 24 & No 17) or #4 weight cotton yarn

Size:

Each bag measures approx. 20.5” (52 cm) from the top of the handles to the base of the bag and they will stretch when in use. The height without straps is approx. 13.8” (35cm) and the width is approx. 12.6” (32 cm)

Note: ch sts at the beginning of a round do not count as a stitch

Start with dark gray color

Rnd 1: 8hdc into a magic ring, sl st to the 1st hdc of the round to join.

Rnd 2: ch1, inc around (2 hdc in each stitch), sl st to the 1st hdc of the round to join –16 sts.

Rnd 3: ch1, *2hdc in the next st, hdc in the next st*, rep from

*_* 8 times, sl st to the 1st hdc of the round to join –24 sts.

Rnd 4: ch1,*2hdc in the next st, hdc in the next 2 sts* rep from

*_* 8 times, sl st to the 1st hdc of the round to join –32sts.

Rnd 5: ch1,*2hdc in the next st, hdc in the next 3 sts* rep from

Rnd 14: ch2 (doesn’t count as st), 2dc in each ch1 space around, sl st to the 1st dc to join – 96 sts

Rnd 39: ch1, hdc in the next 26 sts, Ch 50, skip 22 hdc, hdc in the next 26 stitches, ch 50, skip 22 hdc, sl st into the base of the handle chain.

Rnd 40-41: ch1, hdc in each st around, continuous stitch sequence between the bag and handle.

Cut yarn and weave in the ends using a tapestry needle.
