Crochet Roses Pattern

Abbreviations (US Terms):

  • ch – chain
  • st(s) – stitch(es).
  • sc – single crochet
  • inc – increase (2sc in one st)
  • slst – slip stitch
  • hdc-half double crochet stitch
  • FO – finish off
  • [ ] – crochet in the same stitch
  • ( ) X 6 – repeat whatever is between the brackets the number of times stated

Materials needed:

Roses:

*Use orange yarn with 2mm hook

  • Row1: chain 34, find the 2nd chain from the hook, work 1sc in each space until the end;
  • Row2: chain 5, turn to the other side, work 1dc in the current space; skip 2 spaces on Row1, work (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) to get a upside down triangle shape; Repeat: skip2, (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) until the end.
  • Row3: chain 1, turn to the other side. In the big space (see pic) under the 2ch in R2, work 5dc; in the small space between the 2dc in
  • R2, work 1slst; Repeat: 5dc, 1slst until the end. Ch1 to secure the end. FO, cut off the yarn with a long tail about 30cm long to sew the flower.

Assemble the flower:

Roll the flower along the tail in the center to get the flower, sew the flower bottom to fix the shape, and hide the tail.

Flower torus:

*Use green yarn with a 2mm hook

  • R1: 5SC in a magic ring —5
  • R2: 5inc—10
  • R3:10SC—10
  • R4: 4ch, slst in the 2nd space from the hook, then 1sc, 1hdc; skip 1 space from R3, work 1slst in the next space; repeat: (4ch, 1slst through the 2nd ch from the hook, 1sc, 1hdc), 1skip, until the end. FO Cut off the yarn

Leaves:

*Use green yarn with a 2mm hook

*Work 3 leaves and wrap them together as a group

Ch11, insert the wire; find the 2nd space the hook, work 1sc, 1hdc, 5dc, 1hdc, 1sc,(1slst, 1ch, 1slst) in the last space;

Turn to the other side, repeat: 1sc, 1hdc, 5dc, 1hdc, 1sc; finally 1slst through the 1st to close the round, FO, cut off the yarn with a long tail of about 30cm long. Wrap the tail along the wire, fix the tail with the wire, cut off the tail.

Assemble all parts:

  1. Cut a piece of wire (0.5mm wide) about 15cm long, insert through about 1/3 of the bottom of the flower. Fold the wire back, and insert it through the flower torus. Glue/sew the torus onto the flower.
  2. Wrap the green tail along the wires for about 3cm, fix the tail, cut off the yarn.
  3. Find a long green yarn, and wrap all flowers and leaves along a floral stem (1mm wide,about 30cm long).
