Seam Together Shoulders (view photos):
Line your front panels on top of your back panel, correct sides facing.
Your last rows of your front panels will be on top of the last row of your
back panel. Using your method of choice, seam the shoulders together.
You can stitch across with a yarn needle or Sl St across with the yarn
tail and hook. I slipped stitch across working through the outer loops
only of my last rows. There will be 6(4,4,4,6,6,4,4,6) Sts left unworked
on the back panel in between the 2 front panels, creating the neckline.
Seam Up Sides:
Starting at the bottom corner of either side of the cardigan Sl St or sew
up the sides. Be sure your rows are aligned correctly. Do not seam all
the way up, leave a 6.5(7, 7.5, 8, 8.5, 9, 9.5, 10, 10.5) inch space for
the arm hole. Repeat on other side.
Sleeves:
With your cardigan correct side out, join yarn with a Sl St at underarm
seam.
Round 1: Ch 2, Work 48(50, 54, 56, 60, 62, 66, 68, 72) Dc evenly
around arm opening, Join to first Dc with a Sl St, TURN. (48(50, 54, 56,
60, 62, 66, 68, 72) Dc)
Round 2: Ch 2, 1 Dc in each St around, join, TURN.
Round 3: Ch 2, X-St around, join, TURN. (24( 25, 27, 28, 30, 31, 33, 34,
36) X-St)
Rounds 4-6: Repeat rounds 1-3.
Optional- roll bottom of sleeve up for a cute cuff.
Trim:
Note- St count is not crucial for the trim.
With your cardigan correct side out, join yarn with a Sl St at front left
flap at the bottom inner corner.
Row 1: Ch 2, Work Dc evenly up the left side of your cardigan, across
the back neckline and down the right side. Stop when you reach the
corner of the right front flap, turn. Note- Exact St count is not crucial,
just try to make the stitch amount even on both sides.
Row 2: Ch 2, 1 Dc in each St across, back to the first corner. Do not
turn, do not tie off, you will now continue with the trim along the
bottom of the cardigan.
Bottom Trim:
Row 1: Ch 2, X-St evenly across the entire length of the bottom of the
cardigan, turn.
Row 2: Ch 2, 1 Dc in each St across.
Tie off, weave in all ends.
