Crochet Pattern Lime Berry Cardigan

The Lime Berry Cardigan is worked in one piece from top down as a raglan. The sleeves are also worked in the round straight on the body piece. It is important that you reach gauge in both rows and across for the size to be correct.

Chains do not count as stitches. Stitch count can be found in parentheses later in this guide.

  • The cardigan in the pictures is in size S.
  • This pattern is written using US terminology
  • Gauge (10x10cm / 4×4”) 9 rows 16.5 DC (the 10 cm / 4” mark is in the middle of the 17th DC)

PATTERN

Neckband
Chain 15
  • Row 1: SC in the second chain from the hook and across row. Ch 1. Turn. (14 sts)
  • Row 2: SC-BLO across row. Ch 1. Turn. (14 sts)
  • Row 3 – Repeat row 2 until your cowl measures (30, 32, 34, 36, 38 cm / 11.8”, 12.6”, 13.4”, 14.2”, 15”). Do not fasten off. Fold the neckband in half (longways creating a double brim) and continue to space out SCs around it (next section).
You will now continue to space out SCs around the neckband. Space them out so that you at the same time “seam” the neckband together where you folded it. Space out (82, 88, 94, 100, 106) SC evenly around the neckband. Ch 1. Turn. (82, 88, 94, 100, 106 sts)
Spacing out SC
How to space out the SC depends on how many rows you get on your neckband. For size M I got
68 rows and have 94 sts to space out. 94/68 = 1.4 meaning that for every 2 rows I need to space out
almost 3 sts (1.4*2=2.8) only spacing out 2 sts per 2 rows every 10th row. I usually mark checkpoints with stitch markers (that also helps keeping the neckband folded. For example when reaching row 23 I should have placed out 1/3 of all stitches (31 sts).

Corner stitch (CS) 1 DC, ch1, 1 DC in the same stitch as first DC.
Mark the chain space with a stitch marker. That way you easily find the correct place to make your corner stitch on the next round. I.e. The corner stitch is made in the chain space.

    Ch 1. Turn. (10 sts)
Continue repeating row 2-3 all the way around the
bottom of the body. Do not fasten off. Continue with
side ribbing.

Ribbing of the body — on the side (opening)

  • Row 1: Space out SC across the side of body (cardigan
opening) all the way up. If you want you can continue
making 7 chains at the top so that you later can turn
this and have a double-brim all the way around the
    neck opening.
  • Row 2- 7: SC-BLO across row. Ch 1. Turn.
Fasten off and repeat on the other side attaching your yarn in the
bottom beginning with 10 SC-BLO before spacing out SC to keep
the ribbing at the bottom. If you chained and made it a double
brim: fold it over and seam it to close.

body piece.
Attach your yarn on the inside of the armhole with a slip knot.
  • Round 1: Space out (53, 56, 59, 68, 74) DC around the armhole. Try to
get them as even as possible and space them out as DC2tog
in the corners if you get some extra spaces you need to fill
(especially size M, L and XL). Join to the first sts with a sl st.
