Crochet Pattern Bucket Bag – The Bucket gives the conventional handle a distinctive twist. This design is stylish and straightforward, making it ideal for a daily tote or project bag.
Construction: Bag is worked entirely in continuous rounds of single crochet. Handles begin on round 43 by working chain stitches to create openings in the work. One handle is a mere opening, while the other is long in order to slip through the opposing handle.
Alterations: Work the pattern in a heavier yarn weight and/or hold yarn double for a slightly larger finish size. Increase your hook size accordingly, aiming for a dense tension without too much drape.

continuous rounds
Do not turn, chain, slip stitch, or otherwise join between rounds. Work first stitch of each round into first stitch of previous round. Always mark first stitch in order to recognize it later.
a note on the increases
I have staggered the increases to create a more rounded final shape. On rows that have an even number of scs between incs, I’m breaking one of those repeats in half by working half of the scs at the very beginning of the round, and the second half at the end of the round. This shifts the inc just slightly over from being aligned with adjacent rows.
Here’s an example:
Round 10: Sc in next 4 sts, inc in next st. *Sc in next 8 sts, inc in next st; rep from * around, until 4 sts rem. Sc in next 4 sts. (60)
