Crochet Open Tulips Pattern

 Abbreviations (US Terms):

  • ch – chain
  • st(s) – stitch(es)
  • sc – single crochet
  • inc – increase

Material used

 

Tulips

*Work 6 petals for 1 flower.

  • R1: chain 13, find the 2nd space from the hook, work 1slst, 1sc, 1hdc, 6dc, 1hdc, 1sc, 2slst in the last stitch and move to the other side. Then continue, 1sc, 1hdc, 6dc, 1hdc, 1sc, 1slst and finally another 1slst through the 1st stitch of R1 to close R1.
  • R2: chain 1 as the turning chain and do not count as a stitch. Insert the craft wire (0.5mm *15cm) and crochet along with the craft wire to work 1sc in each stitch unitl the end. Finally work a slst through the 1st stitch of this round to close R2. FO, cut off the yarn

 

Flower heart:

  • R1: Ch6, from the 2nd stitch from the hook, work 5slst, 1 petal finished. Then repeat to work 2 more petals: chain 6, 5 slst, chain 6, 5 slst. Work a slst through the 1 stitch of the 1st petal. FO, cut off the yarn. Insert a piece of craft wire for later assemble.

 

Leaf:

*Work 1 leaf for 1 branch of flowers.

*Work [ ] in the same stitch.

  • R1: Ch28, find the 2nd space from the hook, work 2sc, 2hdc, 20dc, 1hdc, 1sc, and 3sc in the last space. Turn to the other side, repeat: 1sc, 1hdc, 20dc, 2hdc, and 2sc; finally 1slst through the 1st to close the round.
  • R2: chain 1 as the turning chain (do not count as a stitch), insert the craft wire (0.5mm, 20cm), work 1 sc in each space until the tip of the leaf; work [1sc, 1ch picot, 1ch] in the sc at the tip of the leaf, then from the next space, continue to work 1 sc in each space until the end. In the end, 1slst through the 1st space to close this round. Wrap the craft wires with the tail, fix the end. FO, cut off the yarn.

 

*Picot stitch: The following photos show a 3 chain picot stitch, which means we chain 3, then do a picot. In this leaf, we chain 1, then do a picot.

 

Assemble all parts:
  • Find 1 piece of floral stem (30cm long, 2mm wide), align the flower heart in the center with the floral stem, put 3 petals around the flower heart, wrap them together with same colored green yarn as the leaf;
  • Attach 3 more petals as the 2nd/outside layer, still wrap with green yarn.
  • Attach the leaf, finally apply glue at the end of the stem to fix. Done
