Crochet Amigurumi Elephant Pattern

Listof Materials and Tools:

1. Sport weight/4ply yarn (50g/160m):

  • For body, tail, trunk, ears and arms- gray – Yarn Art Jeans No.46
  • For cheeks – pink – Yarn Art Jeans No.36
  • For ears – light pink – Yarn Art Jeans No.74

2. Hook size 2 mm

3. Polyester toy filling (I used fiberfill)

4. Black thread for embroidery of eyes and lines on the trunk

5. Cream thread for nails embroidery. I use YarnArt Jeans No.03

5. Needle with a large eye for assembly and toy decoration

6. Sewing pins for assembly

Abbreviations:

  • MR – magic ring

  • sc – single crochet
  • inc – increase (2 sc in one stitch)
  • dec – decrease (2 sc together)
  • sl st – slip stitch

Note

  • The pattern does not contain crochet lessons;
  • All pieces are crocheted in a spiral, unless otherwise indicated;
  • When crocheting, there is no need to follow the marker, i.e. no need to crochet extra stitches;
  • When using this yarn and hook, the toy is 11 inch (28 cm). When using a different yarn and hook size, the size of the finished toy changes.

First leg:
Crochet in gray color.

Second leg:
Crochet in the same way as the first leg, but do not cut the yarn. Make ch9 and crochet the body.

Crochet in gray color. Stuff as you go. Connect both legs: sc into the first leg. It is important that the toes look inward.

Further, crochet increases on the sides in each 4th round (fold the part in half and make increases strictly on the sides).

Place the pink part in front of the gray one and crochet Rnd 9 through both pieces (as shown in the photo).

Fasten off, cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing pieces
Crochet the second ear in the same way.
Tail
Crochet in gray color. Do not stuff.

Fold in half and crochet 5 sc through both sides. Fasten off, cut the yarn. Leave a long tail for sewing pieces.
Cut off pieces of gray yarn. Thread them into the needle and stretch through the first round of the tail. Tie a knot. Fluff the threads with a needle.
Assembly and Decoration
 Embroidery the eyes in the round 49 of the body at a distance of 10 sc.

 

Sew the trunk in the center between rounds 47 and 48.

 

Sew the arms between rounds 31 and 32 of the body.

 

Sew on the cheeks between rounds 40 and 46 of the body.
Embroidery lines on the truck with a black thread ( I embroider them every 5 rounds).

 

Embroidery 3 claws on the arms and legs between rounds 3 and 7 with a cream thread.

 

Sew the ears between rounds 39 and 55 of the body.

 

Sew the tail between rounds 15 and 16 of the body centered.
