10. 2 sc, inc, (3 sc, inc) x 5, 13 sc= 42

Place eyes between rounds 8 and 9, the first eye is placed before the 2nd increase. Count 8 holes after that and place the 2nd eye. Do not place the backs of the eyes until round 19 if you want the sunken eye look.

11-15. sc in each st around

17. sc in each st around
18. (4 sc, dec) x 6= 30
19. (3 sc, dec) x 6= 24

Now for the eyes. Stuff the head well. Cut a long piece of yarn and remove the eyes.

Place the needle in the holes where the eyes were. Now thread the needle and in a hole next to the eye hole, go back and forth between the two eye holes.

Pull slightly on the yarn after going through each hole. Do this about 3 times on each side until you reach the look you want. To place the backs of the eyes you will need to remove most of the stuffing, then re stuff it after.

Follow the pictures for help. There is also a youtube video I have for extra help on this process.

Assembly

Head and Body:

  1. Thread your needle with a long strand of white yarn. Insert the needle into a hole in between the eyes. Bring the needle up to a lower corner on the eye. Wrap the needle around the outside of the eye. Insert the needle into a hole above the eye. Pull a little tightly. Repeat for the 2nd eye. Weave in any tail ends.
  2. Thread your needle with a long strand of light pink yarn. Embroider some nostrils.
  3. Pin the head onto the body for extra support. You may need to add more stuffing as you sew.
  4. Sew the head onto the body.

Arms:

  1. Thread your needle with a long strand of dark pink yarn. Insert the needle into the middle of the magic ring, leaving a tail. Bring the needle up to a hole between rounds 6 and 7. Insert the needle into the magic ring again. Pull tightly to create a hoof. Repeat one more time. Weave in any tail ends.
  2. Pin the arms onto the side of the body underneath the neck facing a forward angle. I do not have any certain rounds. I place them where I think they look best.
  3. Sew the arms onto the body.

Legs:

  • Repeat the hoof process from the arms onto the legs.
  • Turn the body upside down with the nose facing away from you. Pin the legs onto the bottom of the body approximately between rounds 3 and 4.
  • Sew the legs onto the body.

You can use different eye and nose sizes. You might have to adjust the placements if you change the sizes.

You can use different hook sizes and weights of yarn. It will just change the size of your pig and you might need to adjust eye and nose placement.

How you stuff matters! The type of stuffing you use, how you stuff, all this matters on how your pig turns out. I prefer Polyfil stuffing but you can use other types.

The pattern can be made in various yarns. You will just want to likely adjust hook size and eye sizes. One version I made is with chenille yarn, premier parfait
