Sew on the pockets and pocket borders
- With WS of front panel facing up, pin the pocket backing as shown. Make sure to line up the rows so the front of the pockets match the pocket backing.
- Whip stitch the pocket backing onto the front panel around all four sides. Make sure you do not seam the pocket opening shut.
- With RS of front panel facing up, whip stitch the pocket border to the top of the pocket opening as shown.

Joining Pieces
- Place front and back panels together, with top edges aligned and sew shoulder seams.
- From bottom up, seam panels together at sides, leaving 8 (8.5, 9, 9.5) inches un-sewn for the armhole opening.
Sleeves
*Notes*
- Sleeves are worked in rounds and joined with a sl st to beg ch 1 of each round.
- When working in sc rounds, I recommend placing a stitch marker in the first ch-1 of each round to highlight where to join. Move the stitch marker up with each subsequent round.
- Aim to work approximately 1 sc st in each sc row end and 2 sc sts in each dc row end. The exact amount of sc sts worked into the armhole will vary by size. What is crucial is that the sts are evenly spaced and not too crowded around the armhole.
With smaller hook, attach a new strand of yarn with a sl st at underarm.
Round 1: Ch 1, sc in same st, work sc sts evenly around entire armhole opening, sl st to beg ch-1 to join.
Rounds 2-5: Ch 1, sc in each sc around, sl st to beg ch-1 to join. Fasten off. Repeat on other side.
Seam the collar
- Fold collar in half and place center of collar (at fold) to center of back neckline and pin into place with head pin or st marker.
- Pin the bottom left corner of collar to edge of neck opening. Place pins between points already pinned to ensure the collar fits properly in place around the back and front neckline.
- Beginning on the left bottom edge of collar, sew collar in place using the mattress stitch. The right bottom edge of collar should fold over the left bottom edge of collar.

Fasten off. Weave in all ends.
