OVERVIEW

  • The sweater is worked in 4 pieces: Back, Front and 2 sleeves
  • Each piece is crocheted from the below edge and in the direction of the arrows as shown in the picture below.
  • The neckband is crocheted separately then sewn to the body.

GAUGE: 18 sts and 10 rows = 4″x4” [10×10 cm] in Double Crochet stitch with 5mm crochet hook.

Note: Before starting crocheting the sweater, you need to make a swatch to check the gauge first. The swatch should be 18 sts and 10 rows = 4″x4” [10×10 cm] so that the sweater could get the dimensions recommended in the pattern.

MATERIALS AND TOOLS

  • Himalaya Every Super Lux, color No. 73437: 500 (550, 600, 650, 700, 800) grams.

Note: You could choose another yarn brands, make sure that the yarn weight is DK/ 8ply/ weight 3 yarn and the knitting gauge written on the yarn label is about 20 sts = 10cm.

  • Size 4mm crochet hook
  • Size 5mm crochet hook or size that obtain gauge
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry needle
  • Measuring tape

BACK PANEL

With 4mm hook, Ch 17 sts.

Row 1: Begin from 2nd chain from hook, work in Yarn Over Slip Stitch in next 16 sts; Ch 1, turn.

Row 2: Yarn Over Slip Stitch BLO in all sts; Ch 1, turn.

Repeat Row 2 84 (90, 94, 98, 106, 116) times more. There are 86 (92, 96, 100, 108, 118) rows in total. The length

of the ribbing is about 19 (20, 21, 22, 23½, 26)” [48 (51, 53, 56, 60, 66) cm].

Change to 5mm hook

Row 3 (RS): Work across long edge of Ribbing, from the right to the left as the arrow shown in picture 1. Dc in each st. There are 86 (92, 96, 100, 108, 118) sts left after this step. Ch1, turn.

Row 4: Dc in all sts. Ch1, turn.

Repeat Row 4 until work from beginning (including ribbing) measures 10 (10, 11, 11½, 12, 12½)” [25 (26, 28, 29, 31, 32) cm].

Shape armholes

Row 5: Dc2tog, dc to last 2 sts, dc2tog. Ch 1, turn.

Row 6: Dc2tog, dc to last 2 sts, dc2tog. There are 82 (88, 92, 96, 104, 114) sts remaining. Ch 1, turn. (*)

Make the cuff

With 4mm crochet hook. Ch 17 sts.

Row 2: Work in Yarn Over Slip Stitch BLO in all 13 sts; Ch 1, turn.

Repeat Row 2 29 (30, 32, 32, 34, 34) times more. There are 31 (32, 34, 34, 36, 36) rows in total. The length of

the cuff is about 6½ (7, 7½, 7½, 8, 8)” [17 (18, 19, 19, 20, 20) cm].

Change to 5mm hook.

Row 3 (RS): 2dc in each st across long edge of Ribbing, from the right to the left as the arrow shown in picture

  1. There are 62 (64, 68, 68, 72, 72) sts after this step. Ch 1, turn.

Row 4: [Dc in each of next 5 (4, 7, 4, 8, 6) sts, 2dc in next st] 10 (12, 8, 12, 8, 10) times. Dc in remaining sts. There

are 72 (76, 76, 80, 80, 82) sts after this step. Ch 1, turn.

Row 5: Dc in all sts. Ch 1, turn.

Fasten off, leave a long yarn thread to sew the sleeve to the body.

Make other Sleeve the same.

NECKBAND

With 4mm hook, Ch 8 sts

Row 1 (WS): Begin from 2nd chain from hook, work in Yarn Over Slip Stitch in next 7 sts; ch 1, turn.

Row 2: Work in Yarn Over Slip Stitch BLO in all 7 sts; Ch1, turn.

Repeat last row until neckband measures length to fit around neck edge, when slightly stretched, ending on a WS row. Fasten off.

FINISHING

With RS facing.

Sew shoulder seams together with mattress stitch.

Sew Neckband to Body: Place beginning of neckband seam at top of front right shoulder seam (picture 2) and sew long edge of neckband to neck edge with mattress stitch, stretching neckband slightly to fit. Sew neckband seams together.

Sew Sleeves to armholes with mattress stitch.

Sew side and sleeve seams together with mattress stitch.
