STITCH CLOSSARY AND SYMBOLS
1. Chain

2. Single crochet USA (in UK double crochet)

3. Cluster (in UK Treble Cluster)
YO, insert hook in stitch & draw up a loop, YO & draw through 2 loops on hook repeat 3 times into the same stitch (you should end up with 5 loops on the hook), YO & draw through all loops on hook.

4. Increase – 2sc in the same stitch
Inc: To increase in crochet, you simply work 2 stitch into the same hole, thereby increasing the number of stitches in the current row versus the previous row.
5. Decrease – 1 sc along two stitches
Dec: To decrease in crochet, you work the first stitch as you normally would, skipping the final step of that stitch (skip the part of the stitch process where you draw a final loop through the loops on your hook and end up with one single loop on your hook, ready to work the next stitch), leaving the worked loops on the hook. Then work the next stitch as you normally would, with the previous stitch’s loops still on the hook. When you get to the end of making this second stitch, draw your yarn through ALL of the loops of both the first and second stitch to draw them together, thereby decreasing the number of the stiches in the current row versus the previous row.
- Single crochet – sc
- Cluster – cl
- Increase – inc
- Repeat – rep
- Decrease – dec
- Slip Stitch – sl st

1 Magic Ring

The Basic Magic Ring is the perfect technique for creating projects in the round. In contrast to working into a chain or a chain circle, the basic magic ring allows you to tighten the first row, eliminating any opening.

Place a marker in the last st of every round, moving it upwards into the last st of every new round.!
