Baby Girls Lace Asymmetric Dress & Blouse is a versatile and fashionable design, perfect for special occasions and everyday use. It is asymmetric and shorter on the front. You can use the same pattern to make a dress or ruffle blouse, which your little ones will look adorable in.
You can design the dress and blouse in the colors you prefer. The sample is made of cotton yarn but you can use wool yarn as well for colder season of the year.
The pattern is in eight different size: 0-3 months / 3-6 months / 6-12 months / 1-2 years / 3-4 years / 5-6 years / 7-8 years / 9-10 years. Purchase one pattern and crochet as many as you wish for the ones you love.
Materials used
Yarn : Baby safe yarn in Size 3/DK/Light worsted. You will need around 260/330/430/530/660/780/930/1080 yards or 240/300/400/490/610/720/860/990 m yarn in first color
for the blouse,
510/650/840/990/1260/1490/1760/2050 yards or 470/600/770/910/1160/1370/1610/1890 m yarn in first color for the dress,40/40/50/50/50/60/60/60 yards or m yarn in second color for the blouse or dress.
Crochet hook : Size E / 3,5 mm. If it is bigger size than you prefer you can size down your hook, if it is too small than you can size up your hook.
Gauge : 17 stitches x 12 rows per 4”/10cm square in half double crochet stitches.

Directions are for size 0-3 months & changes in the numbers for other size are written in colors. The asymmetric design is worked in one piece from neckline to down, it is shorter on the front. The dress skirt length and sleeve length can be adjusted very easily.
Chain stitches at the beginning of the rows/rounds don’t count as a half double crochet stitch.
Row 1
- Loosely make 52 (56/ 59/ 63/ 66/ 70/ 74/ 77) chain stitches, start crocheting into 3rd
chain stitch from the hook.
- [Half double crochet 7, 2 half double crochet into next stitch] repeat the increase pattern 6 (6/7/7/8/8/only 8/9) times, half double crochet into remaining
2 (6/1/5/0/4/8/5) stitches. Total 56 (60/ 64/ 68/ 72/ 76/ 80/ 84) stitches.
- We need to change color of yarn on the next row. Please join and switch to second color yarn on your last stitch (finish the last stitch with next color).
Row 2 – Bead stitch row – use second color yarn – This will be the RIGHT side
- Chain 2, turn, [half double crochet 2, bead stitch over the last half double crochet stitch, skip 1 stitch] repeat the pattern until end.
Half double crochet 1 into last stitch/two/three stitches.
Here is how we work bead stitch over half double crochet stitch
Yarn over, insert hook from right side of the last half double crochet stitch, yarn over, draw
yarn. Total 3 loops on hook.
Repeat the same two more times
Yarn over, insert hook from right side of same half double crochet stitch, yarn over, draw yarn. Total 5 loops on hook.

Separating sleeves
- Turn, chain 2. Half double crochet 16 (18/ 20/ 22/ 24/ 26/ 28/ 30) on dress back side.
Fold the sleeve, half double crochet 1 into first and second V stitch of the sleeve
at the same time. We are skipping the sleeve.

- I like to mark the side of each row of back panel before working over it.

You can adjust the sleeve length.
- Fasten off, secure the yarn tail by weaving in the wrong side.
- Repeat the same on the second sleeve.
Back finishing & Back button
- Half double crochet around back opening
Join yarn into base of first stitch on back right side, chain 1.
Half double crochet downwards and upwards around the back opening.
You can work [1 stitch over side of first row, 2 stitches over side of next row].

- Button loop
Turn to wrong side, chain 1, and carry yarn by slip stitch over second stitch from top edging, chain 7, slip stitch into same stitch.
Fasten off, secure the yarn tail by weaving in the wrong side.
There is only one button loop on size 0-3 months dress, you can carry yarn by slip stitch on the wrong side and make a second loop if you would like for bigger size.

- Button – Crochet buttons are used on this design. You can use normal buttons if you like.

Make a magic loop, chain 3.
Double crochet 10 into the loop, pull the yarn tail tight to close up.
Join the round by slip stitch over first double crochet stitch of the round.
Fasten off, weave yarn end through stitches, pull on yarn tail and close tightly.
